The self-propelled gun carriage (Sd. Kfz. 11/1) for 2cm Flak 38 on le. Zgkw. 3t with tank protection was manufactured from March 1944 at Horch. The front part of the vehicle was armoured and resembled that of the Sd. Kfz. 251 Ausf. D why this vehicle was often wrongly called Sd. Kfz. 251/17 is designated. The Sd. Kfz. 11/1 number had been newly assigned after the production of the fog motor vehicle (Sd. Kfz. 11/1) had expired and its tasks had been taken over by the fog motor vehicle (Sd. Kfz. 11/5). The Sd. Kfz. 11/1 was used partly also without the 2cm Flak 38 as partly armoured supply vehicle. Until March 1945 644 vehicles had been manufactured.
